My husband and I purchased a new home at the end of January 2011, and used NBKC to finance the purchase. I had no idea just how much of a roller coaster the home searching process could be, but I found out fast! After getting through all of the excitement and frustration in finding our home, I fully expected to find myself face to face with a nightmare when it came to lending. I'd heard horror stories from plenty of people of how terrible lenders could be, and I was gearing up for the fight. What actually happened was quite unexpected.
After finding your company through Lending Tree, I was contacted by Jeff Barnett from your mortgage division. He was polite and professional from the word 'go'. Being our first time through the lending process, I had plenty of questions for Jeff. Not only was he extremely patient with all of my inquiries, he went the extra mile to respond to many emails and phone calls after hours and even on weekends! He reached out to me, at the very least, once a week (spanning a 4 month period) to check on progress or to let me know what was happening on his end, even when there was nothing 'newsworthy' to report. It was so nice to feel like I wasn't forgotten or put on the back burner. Above all of this, Jeff was always a step or two ahead of the game; not once did we have to wait on him to have something ready. Even our real estate agent and escrow officer were impressed with how organized and prepared he was! I felt like I could trust him to do what he said he would do, and he usually did it much faster than anyone could have asked.
So, what I had expected to be a nightmare in the beginning really turned out to be a dream in the end. I completely attribute that to Jeff--he was simply phenomenal to work with!
